A DREAM FINDS ITS WAY HOME

Grandma Thy
returns.

“I never thought there would come a day when Grandma Thy would return.”

My food journey began with Pho Ba Thy in Toyama, Japan. Eight years later, a Facebook post asking for Vietnamese bánh mì in North Bay gave that dream an unexpected new beginning.

With encouragement from my friends, my teachers at Canadore College, and my family, I found the courage to start again—from my home kitchen, one bánh mì and one customer at a time.

Vietnam is where I was born. Japan is where the dream began. Canada is where I was given the chance to begin that dream again.
